ü      When planning a cruise, choose the ship based on your lifestyle and personal interests. If you cruise includes children, select a ship that caters to the activities and entertainment that kids enjoy.

ü      Before booking your dream cruise, consider not just the destination, but the ship environment and facilities. Do you want a party ship with terrific ambience, a ship that has a fully loaded spa, or one that has a more relaxed atmosphere? Your travel agent will help you choose the right ship for your trip of a lifetime.

ü       Book your cruise as early as possible to get the best choice of cabins. Remember to ask your travel agent about the bed size and bathroom accommodations. Double sized beds are much more common than queen sized beds; and bathtubs are generally not available, only single occupancy showers, on many ships.

ü      Luggage can take awhile to reach your cabin, so pack a change of underwear, your bathing suit, and something to wear to dinner in your carryon.

ü      If you are interested in spa treatments or the ship’s specialty restaurant, book your appointments on the first day to ensure you get the times you desire.

ü       Did you know that many cruise lines offer honeymoon specials that may include breakfast in bed, champagne, photos, and even dinner at the captain’s table?

ü       Don’t forget to budget for tips at the end of your cruise. Many cruise lines are now adding a service charge to your shipboard account to cover gratuities.

ü       If your dinner table was not assigned when booking, see the maitre d’ upon boarding to specify if wish early or late seating. Some ships now have personal choice dining, allowing you eat at your leisure.
